Pastor Ben Mai

Pastor Ben is from San Diego, CA. The youngest child of Father Joseph(Orthodox Priest) and Mrs. Mary Mai. Pastor Ben's undergraduate was completed at San Diego State University in Urban Studies emphasis in Criminal Sociology. After pursuing secular careers Pastor Ben enrolled at Concordia University Irvine’s Seminary extension of St. Louis called the Cross-Cultural Ministry Center in 2014.

After graduating from the CMC, Pastor Ben received his 1st call in San Diego, CA. In 2022 Pastor Ben received the call to CTK and is excited about the work God will do in Newbury Park.

What to Expect on Sunday

9:00 AM Adult Bible Study

Adult Bible Study located in the Youth Room.

10:00 AM Divine Worship Service

We use the Lutheran Service Book's Divine Services for liturgy. This is reminiscent of Catholic Mass in a contemporary setting. Music is blended between and modernized traditional hymns.

11: 00 AM Sundays school and Confirmations

We have Sunday school classes from 2-11 years old. Confirmation for middle schoolers.

Families in Worship

We welcome children to be a part of all our services. We have a children's sermon and busy bags for kids of all ages. There is a designated children's area in the sanctuary's overflow if needed.

What kind of church community is Christ the King?

Christ the King is a part of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS), with deep roots in the Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, and Conejo Valley communities. We seek to draw people into an ever-deepening relationship with God and one another, within the body of Christ. Our services are full of praise through the Organist and Cantor, and the Praise band as a response to God's blessing. Our teaching is scripturally based to address today’s world and challenging to the growth of our spiritual walks as forgiven followers of Jesus Christ. We seek to be active in demonstrating Christ’s love to everyone, through acts of love and service. That’s why, at Christ the King, we strive to Love God, Love People, and Serve the Community.
