Christ the King is currently in a pastoral vacancy as of September 1, 2020. We are still holding our regular Sunday morning services and outreach events. Please keep us in your prayers as we go through the call process for a new Pastor.
We would love to see you for Sunday morning church service. Here is what a typical Sunday looks like at CtK
We use the different Divine Services for this service. If you grew up Catholic this service is very similar. Music is lead by the Organ and a Cantor.
This service is more of a contemporary service. Music is lead by our worship band.
We welcome children to be a part of the all our services. We have a children sermon and children's bulletins (ask the usher for one) at both services.
At our 10:30 service for families with infants to 5 year old children, we offer nursery during the whole service if needed but we encourage you to have your children join us for the beginning of the service so they can be a part of the children sermon. You can take them to the nursery after the children sermon, or allow us to guide them to the nursery room and we will bring them back into the service during the last worship song.
For families with children in K - 5th Grade we welcome them to join us for Children's Church at the 10:30 service August - June, after the children's sermon, during the sermon. They also will come back into the service during the last worship song.
Our unofficial "Cry Room" is outside on the playground for those children needing to get out some energy. We are happy to have our tv outside so you can still be a part of the service.
Corey Grant has been blessed to call Ventura County 'home' for most of his life. He grew up in Newbury Park, going down Potrero to the beach and hiking in the hills of Dos Vientos.
Corey graduated from Biola University with his bachelor's in English and Theology. He graduated from Concordia University Irvine with his Master's of Divinity and a MA in Cultural Studies.
One of the many proofs of the goodness of God is the blessing of marrying his best friend and partner, Jennifer, 12 years ago. One of the many proofs of God's sense of humor is the blessing of twin sons, McCarthy and Sawyer, who arrived on the scene 6 years ago. This little family call Oxnard home, and believe God has big plans for our community.
Corey's days are filled with reading, writing, and talking with everyone he can about Jesus. He finds joy in a cup of Costa Rican black coffee, tinkering on the piano, mountain biking in the local hills, or surfing local waves. Corey and his family are blessed, encouraged, and excited to be a part of Christ the King Lutheran Church, and consistently pray for each member.
If you want to drink black coffee, pray together, and talk about Jesus, contact Pastor Corey via email@example.com.
