What we believe

Worship

The church exists to worship God and at Christ the King we believe that worship (whatever style or format it takes) is good.  This is one of the primary ways we show our love to Him.  Matthew 4:10 says, “Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.” Also, Psalm 34:3 states, “O magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt His name together”.  We worship not because we have to (as if it were a duty), but in response to the amazing gift of forgiveness and love Christ showed to us first on the cross.  It is a privilege for us to worship as His followers.

Discipleship

We want to grow together as God’s people.  Jesus paid the price for us on the cross and justifies us completely before God.  So, in response, we desire to become more like Jesus each day.  At Christ the King we grow in Spiritual maturity, “…so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12b-13).

Stewardship

At Christ the King, we strive to, “…love your neighbor as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18).   This is also known as ministry.  When we reach out in Christ’s love to other people we are ministering to them.  We exhibit this in lives of service through good stewardship of our time, talents, and treasures, “…to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12).
